Deputy Mayor, Andrew Sloan, reflects on 9 years as a Councillor
It has been a privilege and honour to represent you on council for the past 9 years.
I’m proud of my contribution on many important issues – standing up for local democracy during the anti- amalgamation fight, developing Heritage Conservation Precincts, defending planning controls and pushing for amendments to State Regional Plans to limit urban sprawl.
Along the way I have championed a long list of liveability improvements for our area, including key footpaths, new playgrounds and shade structures, the Gerringong library and museum and the Minnamurra bike skills track.
Protecting the natural wonders that surround us and the character of our towns is a constant challenge. It is a challenge that Kiama Greens councillors over many decades have proven that they are up for. It is not easy and takes a special skill set.
Every council needs people who put the community first. People with integrity, grit, and critical listening and reasoning skills. That’s exactly what you have with Kathy Rice, Jodi Keast, Tanya George and the Kiama Greens.
That’s why I urge you to please Vote 1 for your trusted Greens Team.”
