Clr Kathy Rice supports Headspace Facility in Kiama

In response to discussion about the need for a Headspace facility in Kiama, Kathy notes that Kiama High students have called for improved mental health services for years. It has regularly come up through youth meetings with Council. As health services are a State responsibility, Council has regularly put their case forward and been rebuffed. Not only that, but by being indexed as a privileged area, State funding to Council’s Youth Services was slashed a couple of years back!

It is definitely time to get funding and access to community services reassessed for our region.
